- What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
- God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
- Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
- Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
I Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Our baptism into Christ has made us one with Him in His death. Since we are one with Him, when Christ died, we died. Our New life is in Him.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Since we died with and in Him, the wages of sin has been fully paid. Through death we are free from the nature, power, and consequences of our sins.
The old sinful nature is dead. Ours is to reckon ourselves dead indeed to sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
