I Corinthians 1:30
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God…and righteousness and sanctification and redemption…
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
In Christ, our redemption (the remission of our sins) is a reality. We are free from the payment for our sins. Justice demanded that we be slaves forever, but love found the ransom in Christ.
The ransom far outweighs the demands of justice.
Man will never be held accountable for his sins. He will only be condemned for rejecting the ransom paid.
The one who believes that the ransom God paid was his substitute, stands justified before God.
Romans 3:23, 24, 27
For everyone has sinned; we fall short of God’s glorious standard.
Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith.
“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.
Yes, what joy for those whose sin is no longer counted against them by the Lord”.
II Corinthians 5:19
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.
With his own blood – not the blood of goats and calves – he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
