THE SALVATION PLAN

A plan is an intended course of action. God always has a plan. He is a master planner. The salvation plan is a systematic series of action by God to preserve humanity from eternal destruction. It is God’s Master Plan (design) for mankind.

You are an integral part of that plan. The salvation plan revolves around you.

It remains an arguable fact that the central theme of the Bible (from Genesis to Revelation) is salvation. Every story in the bible illustrates man’s inadequacy, helplessness, oppression, loss etc and God’s course of action (plan) to preserve, help, deliver, restore, redeem, heal and prosper – salvation.

The Greek rendering of the word ‘salvation’ is ‘soteria’, meaning preservation, deliverance, safety, prosperity, healing and welfare. The instrument used to bring salvation is known as ‘soter’, which is interpreted ‘savior’. Under the old covenant, (Before the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) God used various instruments such as: prophets, judges, priests, kings, leaders and laymen to bring salvation to His people. These instruments typified Jesus Christ. But under the new covenant, God gave us the gift of His precious Son Jesus Christ as our Soter – Savior.

Hebrews 5:9 – And being made perfect, he (Jesus Christ) became the author (source, captain, pioneer) of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. – Emphasis mine.

Acts 4:11-12 AMP – This (Jesus) is the Stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the corner (the Cornerstone). And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.

God’s salvation plan is a finished work. Jesus had only one task from the Father to the world – to bring salvation to mankind. He finished His work; so salvation is a finished work. Hear His testimony in John 17:4 –

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

What sin did, the finished works of Christ corrected.

The salvation plan is God’s ‘working document’; sealed, stamped and authenticated by the blood of Jesus Christ. Since it is impossible to undo the work of Christ, it is therefore impossible to undo or revise the plan. This plan has been revealed and will continue to play out unto eternity.
