Part of God’s Salvation Plan, was to initiate a spiritual peace treaty between divinity and humanity. This spiritual peace means harmony, unity and reconciliation with God. This peace plan was successfully executed in Christ Jesus our Soter.
Under the new covenant/agreement/law, our peace treaty has been formally concluded and ratified with the blood of Jesus Christ. We have been reconciled with God and brought into harmony with Him. The hostility is gone; in its stead, is security.
II Corinthians 5:18AMP – “But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself (received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself) and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation (that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him)”.
God is no longer mad at us; He is pleased with us! No amount of wrong deed/doing can alter that because Jesus did a perfect job at ensuring a lasting treaty. It doesn’t matter how often you default in the terms of agreement/treaty, when both parties (divinity and humanity alike) remember the seal of ratification which is the blood, they are pacified.
God didn’t stop at the peace treaty; He went further to honor us with an ambassadorial position: “Ambassadors for Christ”. As Christ’s ambassadors, we are peacemakers; promoting peace and reconciliation to our world.
II Corinthians 5:20NIV – “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God”.
Humanity can only know real peace through the gospel. Therefore, if you are not promoting the gospel, you are not promoting peace. For God has designed that through us, the world might experience His peace.
